Empowering Midwives

The Story of Our Society

Established as a registered body in 2005, our society has evolved into a recognized organization linked with the International Confederation of Midwives. Our foundation lies on the ICM pillars of Education, Regulation, and Association.

The society began in 1996 with a small group of dedicated midwives seeking to improve professional standards and support each other in the practice of midwifery.

We have served midwives throughout Papua New Guinea, offering resources and community support, as well as fostering relationships with international midwifery organizations.
